Voicemeeter reinstallation - 17 May 2025
Audio driver error reported at boot since early May
- assumed HDMI, since not powered on recently
- then Sound Blaster suspected, based on right channel dropouts
- but mentions of menu and help in message eventually led to Voicemeeter
- Checking Driver Installation identified AUX VAIO driver failure
- online help suggested removing failed driver by Device Manager
- Seemingly not possible to simply reinstall AUX VAIO..
- Regardless, newer Voicemeeter version 2.1.1.9 has been available since December 2024
Downloaded .zip file contains voicemeeterprosetup.exe
- running that as administrator installs code in
C:\Program Files (x86)\VB\Voicemeeter
.. which includes this readme.txt
- ... also a copy of
voicemeeterprosetup.exe , presumably to facilitate reinstallation..
- both 32- and 64-bit executibles are installed; why not just 64-bit..??
- Start MenuVoicemeeter Banana x64 shortcut links to
C:\Program Files (x86)\VB\Voicemeeter\voicemeeterpro_x64.exe
Unclear documentation and code changes
- Step ZERO??? weird documentation link
- New Voicemeeter User Guides has
FIRST STEPS IN VOICEMEETER
.. but in step 1, there are now eight Voicemeeter output devices instead of two

- Would not configuring VoiceMeeter for both input and output create a feedback loop?
- "One more thing:" should point back to QUICK TIPs,
particularly Volume Control without the mouse
- hint to check
System Tray in Menu
- hint to set
7.1 Surround (if appropriate) in Control Panel > Sound > Voicemeeter Input > Configure
