Ultraleap hand tracking cameras and software
- VR Gaming - Controller & Hands discussion
Not Installed initially
Don't worry..
Happened to me also the very first time connecting..
Just click the reset button [in VR1 Tool]
or unplug and replug USB, then rerun wizard..
Alternatively, manually run the Ultraleap installer
inside the program files folder
or via the software tab.. So much options - nEuDy
- since VR1 Ultraleap installation presumably includes VR1-specific configuration,
updating to Ultraleap website Hyperion version could be problematic.
Steam Hyperion version works after rebooting, but not by VR1 Tool;
- no need to restart Hyperion server; multiple VR1 resets are often required.
First Use
Ultraleap service, installed by VR1 tool, launches at Windows boot
did not detect when VR1 was powered on
restarting Ultraleap service did not resolve
Reset Headset in VR1 tool resolved it:
system tray icon
Launch Ultraleap Control Panel:
Ultraleap Control Panel display works with or without SteamVR:
Launching VR1 tool with VR1's Ultraleap Control Panel display open makes Mixed Reality unhappy:
- but mixed reality headset button still works;
starting Ultraleap Control Panel after VR1 tool is ok
initially disabled VR1 Mixed Reality.
That Steam installation replaced VR1's Ultraleap runtime.
- Steam ultraleap hyperion displayed Ultraleap Control Panel in headset.
- Neither Ultraleap Hyperion's Microgestures
nor Launcher app ran.
Reinstalling VR1 tool's Ultraleap Runtime
restored Mixed Reality function
Restoring compatible Ultraleap Control Panel function
required uninstalling SteamVR ultraleap hyperion
Ultraleap's Aurora gameeventually loads and plays
with SteamVR's Ultraleap Hyperion runtime,
but if representative of Ultraleap hand tracking,
then it for me was a hateful waste of money and effort.
Since hand tracking motion controller emulation is IMO much worse,
seemingly touchscreen emulation with headset gaze pointing is wanted.
Ultraleap hand tracking VR controller emulation IMO sucks
Leapify - downloaded leapify-rc4.zip from Releases - copied leapify folder from that .zip to my Steam installation: F:\Steam\steamapps\common\SteamVR\drivers\ - started SteamVR, in upper left corner of SteamVR Status, clicked Settings->Leapify:
- controllers and menus appear in headset,
their orientations and positions follow hands,
but finger gesture attempts seemingly did nothing leapify incompatibility with Steam Hyperion server? - regardless, keeping laser pointer on target while gesturing is for me impossible. SDraw driver_leap Gemini Hand tracking driver
