SainLogic SA68 Plus

Ambient Weather WS-2902 is
most popular on Weather Underground,
but problematic for dual band 2.4+5GHz Wi-Fi and specifically eero.
SainLogic SA68 Plus is cheaper and works with dual-band Wi-Fi,
but SainLogic has a dodgy reputation.
Their SA68 Plus - 5G Product Spotlight claims to address those issues.
SainLogic lists 8 models seemingly using the same outdoor sensor array,
differentiated by 4 different indoor display units,
then 4 Plus models which add 5GHz WiFi.
SA68 has 8-inch display; others have 6.5, 7.5, or 8.5-inch displays.

- Step 2 is about sensor AA cells; panel uses AAA cells.
Panel battery cover removal is very hard.
Stubby #2 Phillips for sensor battery cover fine-threaded screw;
battery changes will be a PITA after mounting..
Panel handling always accidently activates some "button".
Sensor pairing worked as described;
Bluetooth pairing by iOS settings did not work at all.
- Bluetooth pairing requires Inercom app,
which requires verification code that did not arrive in a dozen attempts...

- SainLogic replied to email support request, wanting more information by images.
My email response with images provoked "delivery incomplete"...
Inercom verification code arrived promptly on today's first attempt,
then app (not iOS Bluetooth settings) detected SA68 Plus and connected to dual band eero Wi-Fi.

- Already a Weather Underground, went to
My Profile >
Devices > Add New Device.
SainLogic SA68 Plus is now listed; received ID IWEAVE6 and key
- Inercom app buries Weather Underground settings under gear icon ✿ > WU.
After entering API key, station ID and its key,
Weather Underground reported IWEAVE6
CONNECTED and Online,
but Inercom app reported it offline, and Fing no longer found it...
- another customer
also reported losing Wi-Fi when configuring WU.
Reconnected by
Switch Wifi in Inercom and WIND + on console for Bluetooth mode,
then after a few minutes, IWEAVE6 began reporting conditions.
- Moving panel to another eero access point (same Wi-Fi net) again required reconnecting...

- SA68 Plus "sticks" to eero station used for setup (likely that of iPhone),
which signal may work for Inercom app after moving to another location,
but fail for Weather Underground, in which case
use eero app to verify iPhone is using eero station nearest SA68 Plus,
then in Inercom app select SA68 Plus > ✿ > Switch WiFi > Rescan
