VR1 FAQ
Somnium VR1 face mask options
- VR1 face mask does not magnetically attach
- instead, six M1.5 hex socket screws under velcroed cushion
Some folks want a shallower facemask frame for more FoV

My cheek bones are too prominent for Somnium's face mask
- massive light leaks around the nose unless strap is really tight...
even then, problematic light leaks at the temples
and much lost motion from VR1 inertia during moderate head turns.
I have been putting off and dreading 3D print design, sigh
- Perhaps because of high tension, VR1's head strap creaks for me a lot.
- A VRCOVER velour face cushion, originally for Samsung Odyssey,
is flexible enough to "droop" its cheek ends out of the way:
providing more relief, but not enough to engage VR1 nose flaps.
Still far too slack at temples...
Best visuals want VR1 nose piece firmly against my nose.
- I currently wear VR1 without mask, hanging from BOBOVR M2.
Because wider. the Studioform cushion (VRFSG uses)
resists being distorted like that VRCOVER.
- With a face mask shape better conforming to my brow,
temples and cheeks, it seems likely to be comfy.
