9 Jul 2024 Initialize
- Plug in ethernet and power, turn on
- Sonic pad immediately downloaded 2 new firmwares
- Selected Ender-3 V3 SE and wrote new firmware to microSDHC;
did NOT flash the printer...
- Sonic obviously used ethernet to download new code,
but would not admit IP address
- connected via Wi-Fi as
192.168.1.120:8819
- problematic instructions
- since not instructed otherwise, left original panel attached
when inserting SDHC card for new firmware
- Instructions directed USB-C; not really for Ender-3 V3 SE...
- Original SE panel beeped horribly.. further instructions failed
- tried again with another SDHC; same results
- tried with panel removed, misfingered touch screen
- tried again, plugging serial cable to Sonic,
then unplugging and replugging..
- communication established, whew!
- started calibration.. I loathe that touch screen.
- After printer setup, Wired Network is reported 192.168.1.40
attempting to disable Wi-Fi still reports connected, wtf...
- Reviewing bed heightmap on PC shows warp
with upper left highest, upper right lowest,
then fron left and right roughly equal.
- IMO, web UI is hot garbage. Cannot find printer controls.
Above average reviews
Nearly every review mentions intuitive,
evidently new-speak for undocumented...
